Currently, Mrs. McLean is in her 3rd year (out of 4) as a Society for Science Fellow. In this role, she has been active in promoting student research projects that have potential to provide solutions for local needs.  Mrs. McLean is the 2001 Teacher of the Year for Nevada, 2001 Milken Awardee for Nevada, and the 2001 Recieipeint of the National Horace Mann-NEA Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence.  She consults for the National Academies Teacher Advisory Council and LabAids.  When not busy serving her profession in other capacities outside of normal classroom day to day routines, Mrs. McLean enjoys family time, gardening, keeping fit, and scrap booking. She is an avid MUSTANG fan and is often caught in the student section at big games being as loud as the students.
